Corporate Information
Even after being in the real estate business locally for 30 years, Kathie Hedrick shows no signs of being content with past accomplishments. Recently elected as the 2005 President of the Greater Capital Association of REALTOR® (GCAR) at its annual membership meeting in November, Kathie is looking to the future and already has a message to promote.
A native of Clifton Park, Hedrick still lives within a quarter mile of the family farm where she grew up. Believing that it is not enough to just “belong” to a community, but to be “involved” in that community is what makes the difference. During her one year term as a GCAR President, she hopes to create more opportunity for the members of the GCAR community to do just that.
One way is the building of the REALTORs® House in Albany in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity. GCAR chose this project as part of the year-long celebration of the 100th anniversary of the New York State Association of REALTORs® (NYSAR) in 2005. Hedrick also wants to increase the involvement of GCAR members by encouraging them to serve on various committees and by attending the training programs that are offered by GCAR.
Kathie is currently the Chief Operating Officer of Prudential Manor Homes, REALTORs®, the position she was appointed to in 2000. Formerly a partner in Homes Real Estate, Inc. in Clifton Park, Hedrick joined Prudential Manor Homes in 1998. She began her career in real estate in 1976 motivated by the idea that there are no limits to what a person can accomplish only your personal goals and willingness to work hard. Also, the fact that people will always need a home and a community made this choice of profession a perfect fit for Hedrick.
She attended Albany Business College, New York School of Interior Design, and a Sage Center for Management Development. Her affiliations include being a charter member of the New York State Graduate REALTOR® Institute (GRI) Chapter, a member of WCR, Beta Sigma Phi, and the Capitaland Chorus. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the National Association of REALTORs® (NAR). She has one son, Jared, who lives in North Carolina and is a basketball coach for Pfeiffer University.
